MY OPINION
In any Christmas Album the repertoire is basically the same, but this is a peculiar facet of Christmas Music. It is very interesting, anyway, to listen to the same repertoire as recorded by so many different artists from so many different times under so many different arrangement concepts. Comparison arises inevitably. Sometimes a different album comes into the scene and this is the case for this `Big Band Christmas' recorded, arranged and played by one of the most creative big band leaders nowaday: the Canadian Mr. Rob McConnell. This is a great Christmas album and I´m sure you'll love it, specially if you are a Jazz fan.

MINHA OPINIÃO - Rob McConnel & Boss Brass se constituem, para mim, numa das mais notáveis formações de jazz dos ´ultimos tempos. RMC em seus arranjos consegue a proeza de "mixar" as sonoridades típicas dos combos do "West Coast" (Shorty Rogers, Maynard Ferguson e Manny Albam) e os conceitos de arranjos orquestrais de Stan Kenton e Michel Legrand. E dessa "fusion" emerge seu próprio e inconfundível estilo. Como qualquer álbum gravado por RMC & Boss Brass, é simplesmente maravilhoso.
