STEVE TYRELL
Steve Tyrell nasceu e cresceu no Texas. Depois de se mudar para Nova York galgou,
aos 18 anos, a posição de chefe da gravadora A&R, para a qual produziu álbuns de
Burt Bacharach, Dionne Warwick e BJ Thomas. Nos anos seguintes, Tyrell deixou sua marca como compositor de sucesso, além de trabalhar com música para cinema e TV. Em 1991, cantando "The Way You Look Tonight" na trilha sonora do filme "O Pai da Noiva" com Steve Martin, Tyrell mostrou seu lado de "crooner", que lhe abriu as portas para a gravação de vários e excelentes álbuns. Sempre escorado por notáveis "big bands" e extraordinários arranjadores, inobstante sua voz rascante e pouco convencional não agradar a todos, Tyrell é um grande intérprete, com muito "swing" e classe.

Steve Tyrell is an American jazz musician. Upon moving to New York City at the age of 18, he was made head of A&R and promotion at Scepter Records. There he was mostly behind-the-scenes, producing hits for popular recording artists and movie soundtracks. At 19 years old he first began producing with the likes of Burt Bacharach and Hal David. He worked on several Dionne Warwick hits such as The Look of Love, and Alfie. Together with B.J. Thomas, he worked on the Bacharach-David song, Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head, which went on to win the 1969 Oscar for Best Song From A Movie (Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid). Since the end of the 1990s, he has made several albums based on jazz and standards. His work in the studio has included collaborations with such diverse and legendary artists as Rod Stewart, Diana Ross, Ray Charles, Linda Ronstadt, Aaron Neville, , Blood Sweat and Tears, Chris Botti, Dolly Parton, Bonnie Raitt, Burt Bacharach, Bette Midler and Stevie Wonder.

ALBUM REVIEW
Steve Tyrell is a crooner with sensitivity in his delivery of "Songs of Sinatra", featuring an unforgettable signature style that takes you back to the '40s, '50s and '60s. Listening to every tune on this album brings back memories of Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby, Bobby Darin, Dean Martin and, of course, Mr.Frank Sinatra, as if they were crooning this gorgeous repertoire of standards. Take a listen to the selections on "I GET A KICK OUT OF YOU" and "I CONCENTRATE ON YOU" (featuring Hillary Kole), wonderful arrangement by Bob Mann and Alan Broadbent, as Steve sings mixed with orchestrated strings ."FLY ME TO THE MOON", brings us a great arrangement by Quincy Jones. "THE ONE I LOVE BELONGS TO SOMEBODY ELSE", features a duet between Steven and Frank Jr. "I'VE GOT YOU UNDER MY SKIN" comes up with a jazzy arrangement by Bob Mann and Alan Broadbent. "ALL THE WAY", is a lush arrangement by once again Mann and Broadbent."SOMETHNG STUPID", arranged by Ernie Freeman, features Lauryn Tyrell is a rare track between father and daughter, takes you back to the original by Nancy and Frank Sr. "ALL OF ME" has been orchestrated by the great Sammy Nestico. "YOU GO TO MY HEAD", featurest the trumpetist Roy Hargrove. As a matter of fact this is a GREAT ALBUM!
