Cuidado! Não vá comprar gato por lebre: já existiram dezenas de conjuntos vocais e
instrumentais com este nome. Das duas, uma: ou o nome é "quente", dá sorte e ajuda a vender "zilhões" de álbuns ou é mera falta de imaginação. Opto pela segunda hipótese pois, até onde sei, apenas um grupo de "doo-wop" teve alguma fama e sucesso nos anos 50. Por curiosidade estou anexando no texto aí embaixo, a longa lista dos "Silhouettes" da vida.

THE SILHOUETTES -
Hi folks! Don´t be fooled. There´s a lot of vocal/instrumental groups entitled SILHOUETTES, worldwide. As far as I know, the most important and (somewhat)famous in the 50´s was a "doo-wop" group.

ALBUM REVIEW
This album was produced by the saxophonist Nathan Davis. It's a mix of breezy jazz and breakbeats. The cuts "Lunar Invasion" and "Fonky First" have a tight break sound, and combine fuzzy distorted vibes with guitar, for a very unique sound. Other tracks have a cool jazzy swingin' vibes sound, with female vocals. Very groovy cuts, with a gourgeous "bossa nova" version of Henry Mancini´s masterpiece "Sally's Tomato", from the movie "Breakfast at Tiffany´s" sound track. Pretty good stuff.

MINHA OPINIÃO: o "nosso" SILHOUETTES é um grupo instrumental/vocal de Pittsburg, no qual a vocalista CATHY MARTIN interage com a a instrumentação, funcionando como complemento do arranjo instrumental. Em alguns momentos se tem a impressão de que há um conjunto vocal que, na verdade, não existe. Tem algumas faixas interessantes e outras nem tanto, pelo excesso de experimentalismo. A versão instrumental de" "Sally´s Tomato" é bossa-nova pura.
