Nada melhor pra começar 2011 com o pé direito: um álbum antológico, raríssimo, gravado ao vivo, em 1959, numa Universidade, em Indiana, durante uma excursão da banda de Kenton pelos USA, tendo como convidados June Christy e os Freshmen.

ALBUM REVIEW
This is a great live recording. The balance is very close to a studio recording.  When June, the Freshman and the band all join in for the final four pieces it's magical. If you are Kenton, June & "Frosh" aficionado, you will truly enjoy it.

(*)Dois destaques na banda de Stan Kenton: [1]Don Sebesky, que viria a se constituir num dos grandes arranjadores dos USA, integra o naipe de trombones.


[2]O baterista Jimmy Campbell, que esteve no Brasil em 1959 e gravou um álbum: "The Good Neighbors Jazz", com o baixista Major Holley, o pianista Moacyr Peixoto e o saxofonista Casé. É uma raridade, um "quadro de Picasso" que eu tenho, mas não dá prá ripar: o LP está arranhado, imprestável...Uma pena.
