MY OPINION
The music in this CD is a mix of some "vintage big-band" with "oriented pop" arrangements. It displays Maynard's superb and unclassified range on the trumpet. The diversified music selection is composed of latin, rock, and swing style pieces. My only complaint would be that Maynard is screaming in the stratosphere almost the whole time. In his defense though, the licks and riffs that he pulls off at those incredible levels are extremely tasteful and fit the style perfectly.

MINHA OPINIÃO - trumpete não é, definitivamente, o instrumento dos meus sonhos: prefiro flugelhorn, muito mais "soft & warm". E também não me agrada a região estratosférica que Maynard Ferguson explora à exaustão neste álbum. Mas isso é questão de gosto, que não se discute nem se impõe. O fato é que MF foi um dos maiores expoentes do trumpete e, talvez, o único capaz de expor com clareza as suas idéias, tocando naquela região aguda inacessível a trumpetistas "normais".

(*)Maynard faz uma incursão como "crooner", cantando [sic] "As time goes by".
